Leopoldo E. Guzman
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Leopoldo “Leo” Guzman is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Guzman Energy. He has more than 40 years of energy and finance experience.
In addition to his role with Guzman Energy, Leo serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Guzman & Company, a boutique investment bank focused on the domestic energy and power industries, which he founded in 1987.
Earlier in his career, Leo worked for The Chase Manhattan Bank and Lazard Frères in energy related finance.
He served as a member of the Board of Visitors of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and as member of the of the Stanford GSB Advisory Council. Leo also received a Presidential appointment to the Advisory Committee of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation where he served for three years. He is the recipient of the 2002 Jerry I. Porras Award for Outstanding Achievement at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Leo currently serves as a director of the Q Group (The Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance).
Leo holds a B.S. degree in Operations Research from the School of Engineering and Applied Science of Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Born and raised in Cuba, Leo moved to the United States as a teenager.
