Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), Delta, CO

DMEA has partnered with Guzman Energy since 2020. DMEA’s goals were to:

  • Stabilize their wholesale cost of power
  • Increase local renewable power generation
  • Have greater local control over its power portfolio and greater flexibility

By leaving their legacy G&T cooperative supplier and partnering with Guzman Energy as exclusive wholesale power provider, DMEA has:

  • Stabilized the cost of wholesale power through its fixed-price wholesale power contract. 2024 marked the fifth consecutive year of stable power rates for member-owners
  • Increased local renewable generation plans — DMEA, Alluvial Power and Guzman Energy have begun construction on the 80 MW Garnet Mesa solar project in DMEA’s service territory that will serve DMEA and other customers
  • Restored local control to DMEA to govern its power supply decision-making

From day one, Guzman Energy has fully embraced our vision of stable rates, local generation, and local control. As we welcome the 5th year of stable rates in 2024, we are simultaneously announcing the groundbreaking of Colorado's largest agrivoltaic solar array. Our partnership with Guzman Energy is one of true collaboration, and together, we are committed to creating a successful future for our members.
